Mpuuga’s Opportunistic Attack on Bobi Wine Exposed.
Controversy has erupted following remarks made by Mathias Mpuuga, formerly suspended from the Vice Presidency office of the National Unity Platform (NUP), in which he criticized NUP leader Bobi Wine.
Addressing his constituents, Mpuuga claimed that despite knowing about Bobi Wine’s alleged substance abuse and political inexperience, he and others joined the party in 2020 to provide support. However, Mpuuga’s statements have been met with widespread criticism, with many accusing him of dishonesty and opportunism.
Critics argue that his admission of knowingly supporting an allegedly unfit leader undermines his own credibility and suitability for positions of power. This development has significant implications for Uganda’s political landscape, sparking debates about leadership accountability and the integrity of political alliances especially now when we gearing up for 2026 elections.
