The second deputy prime minister and woman member of parliament for Kamuli district, Right Honourable Rebecca Kadaga has attributed increased unemployment in the country to lack of career guidance in institutions of learning.
Kadaga, made the remarks while officiating at a career guidance meeting she had organized for High School Council for Kamuli municipality and district, at Busoga Secondary School in South division, Kamuli municipality on 23.03.24.
“Sometimes when you live school here and you have not achieved your goal, you just go home in the village because you don’t know there’s an opportunity in Malaysia, Egypt and Algeria, etc etc” Kadaga said
According to Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga, many students lose hope after school because they lack information to get guided. Kadag thus instructed the District Education Officer to investigate career guidance in schools to find out what’s happening.
